One Foot in the Grave
One Foot in the Grave is a BBC tv sitcom series The series comprises the exploits of Victor Meldrew Margaret, along with his longsuffering wife. The programmes always deal with the battle against the problems he creates for himself of Meldrew. Living in a standard household in a suburb that is undercover, Victor takes early retirement. His efforts to maintain himself busy, while encountering misfortunes and misunderstandings are the themes of the sitcom. The series had been largely filmed in Walkford although clues show that the series may have been set in Hampshire -- possibly Winchester. Using aspects of humour and surrealism, the series supplants its sitcom setting despite its own traditional production.
