In Cold Blood
At the conclusion of the 1950s, in a more innocent America, the barbarous slaying of a Midwestern family horrified the nation. This picture is based on Truman Capote's hauntingly detailed, non fiction publication that was emotionally penetrating. While in prison, 20, Dick Hickock, finds the story about $10,000 in cash of a cell-mate kept by a rancher in a property safe. Dick persuades ex-con Perry Smith to join him in going after the ordeal when he's paroled. On a November night in 1959, Perry and Dick break into the Holcomb, Kansas, house of Herb Clutter. Enraged at finding no safe, they kill them all and cruelly wake the sleeping family. Two friends who come before Sunday church find the figures. Even the murders shock the Great Plains town, where doors have been left unlocked. Detective Alvin Dewey of this Kansas Bureau of Investigation heads the case, however there are no indications, no apparent motive and no guesses...
