Daniel Deronda
Daniel Deronda is a British television serial play. The serial produced by Louis Marks has been directed by Tom Hooper, also was broadcast in three parts on BBC One from 23 November to 7. The serial starred Romola Garai as Gwendolen Harleth Hugh Dancy like Daniel Deronda, Hugh Bonneville as Henleigh Grandcourt, and Jodhi May as Mirah Lapidoth. Coproduction funding came from WGBH Boston.
Louis Marks originally required to create a film adaptation of the novel but abandoned the job after a fruitless and lengthy casting process. The play took a further five years to make the journey to television screens. Filming ran for 11 weeks from May to August on places in England, Scotland and Malta. The serial was Marks' television production before his death in 2010.
