A drifter, a waitress and also a notorious gangster cross trails in Arizona's Petrified Forest region. A writer that is destitute, alan, enter the diner where Gabrielle works. Gabrielle dreams of studying art, and Alan and she join she tells her aspirations and as they talk about Europe. But gangster Duke Mantee turns up and chooses the clients hostage.
