Jane is young, pregnant, and single. She's against settling with the father or having an abortion. After renting a room in a squalid London boarding house, Jane befriends the residents and has an affair with Toby. As Jane's pregnancy threatens her new relationship and single parenting looms, she must decide what to do about both.
