Sam, that after his bike is damaged in a noticeable collision into the ocean, comes to be stranded in a small New England community, discovers haven at a run-down motel managed by Kate, a similarly burnt-out, shed heart. The secret around Sam's visibility in the area unravels when it's found that his separated child Audrey lives there - the child he hasn't seen her in 25 years. As he attempts to bridge the gap between the little lady he left long ago and the lady that matured without her daddy, Sam learns he was never cut-out to be mentally linked to anybody - unless he loves another spirit equally as lonely.
