Amanda, locked in adolescence, searches for a means to escape the tedious family vacation during the holidays. While on the road, she becomes aware of how her relationship with her family is deteriorating and her parents' marriage is gradually disintegrating. She views it as a punishment, but is unaware that with the development of violence in Mexico, this may be their final holiday together.
