Ruby Sparks
Calvin is his life -- as well as a young novelist who achieved success in his career but is struggling along with his writing. Finally, he also makes a break through and creates a character named Ruby who inspires him. When Calvin finds Ruby, at the flesh, sitting about a week later on his sofa, he's wholly flabbergasted that his words have turned into a living, breathing person.
