Ocean of Pearls
As a Sikh person with turban and the beard, AMRIT SINGH is most the mark of racial profiling. However, if he sees his fantasies to become Chief of Surgery at a state-of-the-art transplant center dwindle because of his look, Amrit goes contrary to a convention he has maintained his entire lifetime and blows off his hair. Hiding this decision out of family and his girlfriend in Toronto is the beginning of a collection of compromises Amrit finds himself making as he copes with hospital politics and health care injustices. Amrit begins to reexamine the value of the customs when his compromises result from the death of a patient.
