Ninth Happiness
The residents of Choi Hung are all goodhearted folks who enjoy singing and working. Chi Wan, a local beauty, meets a mysterious man in the woods and falls in love with him, convinced that he is a fairy. He asks her sister, Heung, for help, and on her recommendation, he secretly pursues Chi Wan, eventually surprising her by revealing his true identity by buying her a fan. Misguided jealousy arises when Chi Wan and Heung's boyfriend, Dup, assume the stranger and Heung are romantically linked. The new town official and his rough enforcer are brothers who have just moved to town and can't believe there's no corruption to profit from, so they try to open a whorehouse. Like us, they're after Chi Wan. The question is whether or not this mess can be solved. Will innocence prevail? Who is this mysterious person, exactly?
