Marc is a professor of literature at the University of Lausanne. Still coping with his sister Marianne at a huge -- and a mentor, isolated chalet they inherited if they were young -- he carries on a single romance affair after another with his students. Winter has almost stopped when one of his most brilliant students, Barbara, unexpectedly disappears. Two days later, Marc meets Barbara's mother, Anna, that desires to get out more about her disappeared daughter.
