On the afternoon before Easter at 1911, Don Hewes is crushed if his dance partner (and object of affection) Nadine Hale will not begin a fresh contract . To establish Nadine's not crucial to him innocent new protegee Hannah Brown, vowing to make her a star in time for next year's Easter parade is acquired by Don.
