Mi Taylor is a young nomad and opportunist who happens to discover himself squatting at the Brown family's house in the bucolic English countryside. Velvet, the youngest daughter, is a horse enthusiast, and when she wins the lively steed Pie in a town lottery, Mi is urged to train the horse. Velvet is the only child in the family.
