Jackie Turner can be actually a straighta university student, who abandoned, was abused and starved as a kid. Although her life has turned around, the holidays continue to be very painful for her. Facing another lonely holiday break Jackie takes an ad on Craigslist for The ONE CHRISTMAS Wish - a family for Christmas - and even offers to pay $8 an hour. For her surprise, responses flood in. Among the many heart felt invitations and letters of service, she hears from people fighting with the same overwhelming emptiness that comes with spending the holidays without loved ones. Moved and inspired, Jackie decides to throw a big Christmas party - with the assistance of friends her advisor and support group - to find all those folks who finds one for herself too well, and emailed her families.
