Steven Keats performs with a Russian emigre who prides himself along how he has molded himself into a real Yankee in the USA, although the planet he resides in, New York's Lower East Side in the late 19th century, now has been almost entirely populated by other Jewish immigrants. After his wife (Carol Kane) finally arrives at the New World, but she has a lot of assimilating to do. This leads to the strain that compels along the picture, though it keeps a light setting the majority of the time.
