From extorting enormous sums of money from silly married ladies that are dumb enough to fall for his charms that are amorous, he supports himself. Von Stroheim's partners in crime, Maud George and counterfeit princesses Mae Busch, are now living with the entrance in a enormous mansion in a nation of depravity that is endless. Their most recent victim, played is the wife of an American financier. Von Stroheim's attempted seduction of this particular ridiculous wife is thwarted at every turn, and also the count ultimately gets his comeuppance.
