Weightless
It's a barren wasteland in rural Fulton County, Georgia, with nothing more than a few modest dwellings, a petrol station, and a trash dump. Working at a recycling plant where Joel often comes across usable glass bottles, Joel cleans and takes them home. His ex-wife has vanished, and it is now his obligation to care for his son, as he learns when he receives an unexpected phone call one day. How does Joel, who is set to see his 10-year-old son Will for the first time, know what to expect from the relationship? It just so happens that Will begins to open up to his father thanks to the assistance of Clara, a brilliant local girl. But the youth welfare officer has already knocked on the door. The feature directorial debut of director Jaron Albertin is a thoughtful, slightly sad drama about two strangers who develop a deep understanding of one another.
