Max's life spans 35 years, as do those of his best friend Sal and a lady they both admire, Lyla. The trio stumbles through obligatory but unsatisfying relationships at weddings, funerals, hospitals, restaurants, divorce courts, and the tool shed. A wry parable about time sneaking up on us and veering around us.
